Published by Hank Gottschalk

National Concrete Pipe Week was officially observed August 14-20, 2016, in recognition of the vital importance of reinforced concrete pipe and precast concrete products to the health, safety, and well-being of citizens throughout the U.S.

The governors of 25 states recognized National Concrete Pipe Week by way of official proclamation, including every state within CP&P’s regional footprint. Local area states included Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Its purpose, to educate communities and their leaders on the importance of our nation’s infrastructure and the critical role concrete pipe and precast products plays in creating and sustaining a strong, safe system.

CP&P celebrated the national event by hosting Open House / Partner Appreciation Days at the Chesapeake plant Tuesday August 16, and at the Hanover Pipe plant Thursday August 18. Several municipalities, local contractors, design engineers, DOT staff, and vendor partners attended and joined in the celebration. Both events featured catered BBQ lunches, group plant tours, product displays, and raffle drawings, while allowing guests to mingle and socialize among themselves as well as meet CP&P team members.

If you were unable to attend this year’s events, we look forward to celebrating with you next year.
